Each family had requests and the gifts were sorted by age group. A lot of girls wanted dolls. As a white woman, I became keenly aware quickly that there weren't enough black dolls for black girls. It disturbed me that my only option was to give blond haired dolls to black children. I ended up giving them something else on their list instead. That experience had a huge impact on me. I order these dolls every year and donate them to toys for tots. Gifted this to my daughter on her 9th birthday. It was a big hit. She is a fan of the show but even if she wasn't, this is a pretty good doll. She mostly likes OMG dolls, but this one is definitely a favorite. The way you can change the style especially the shoe style is pretty clever. As a guy I really don't get fasion dolls, but even I can say that this doll is unequivocally "cool" I asked her what she likes most, she said that her little can't take the clothes off"

I am so disappointed. The doll would have been perfect if it did not arrive in a box that had been ripped open and taped back together. Also the yellow “unsnap” skating piece is missing. This was supposed to be a gift‼️

This doll is so beautiful however her hair is installed so poorly. So many bald spots in the back. I'm sure the real LAY LAY does not have bald spots in her hair, so why approve a doll with bald spots.
